Acupuncture Workshop 2023

Anh Phung comes from a long line of acupuncturists who has developed her own successful needling techniques. Anh is offering a series of workshops to pass on traditional and innovative acupuncture techniques that she has gained over 40 years of extensive clinical practice, with special focus ‘on right dose of acupuncture’, ‘moxibustion application’ and ‘targeting right Acu-points’. In the workshop, you will get an opportunity to learn Anh’s innovative techniques that are effective to treat an emerging health issue and chronic conditions.

Anh Phung will share with you her secrets of success working with Chi for natural healing with an intention to demonstrate her practiced techniques before the knowledge of classical technique gets diminished.

Introduction

According to the principles of TCM, Acupuncture must be combined with Moxibustion as the word ‘Acupuncture’ means “needle and burn” (針灸- zhen jiu). In early 70’s the technique of acupuncture is widely adopted by Western countries, but during the transfer of intervention knowledge the moxibustion component was missed unfortunately. Since then, therapists started exploring benefits of acupuncture without moxibustion more often.

Acupuncture and moxibustion have been used to treat a variety of diseases for over thousand years. In past, researches have shown that acupuncture is one of effective and safe treatments for musculoskeletal pains, depression, anxiety, IBS, infertility, digestion issues. In acupuncture treatment, healing is achieved through mechanical stimulation by needling and thermal stimulation induced by moxibustion, respectively. Moxibustion is an important part of acupuncture therapy as it has anti-inflammatory effects, analgesic effects and immunomodulator effects, further it provides tonification and purgation. Acupuncture treatment combine moxibustion will lead to optimum therapeutic outcomes.

Factors effecting optimum therapeutic outcomes

  1. Right dose of acupuncture
  2. Difference outcomes with or without moxibustion
  3. Targeting right Acu-point (TCM pathway or following Anatomy)

The purpose of Anh’s Workshop is to discuss and explore the importance techniques of above factors of difference health issues.
